Who is required to pay?

All business entities registered in Hungary—including limited liability companies (Kft.), general and limited partnerships (Bt., Zrt.), and other legal entities, as well as sole proprietors—are required to pay the annual chamber contribution fee of HUF 5,000. The payment must be made to the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which serves as the national chamber.

Key Information About the Payment

  • The chamber contribution must be paid by March 31 each year. (For businesses established during the year, registration and payment must be completed within 5 days of company registration.)

  • The fee can be paid via bank transfer or using the payment method provided by the relevant local chamber.

Since the chamber contribution is not a tax, it comes with services in return.
After registering, businesses are entitled to free advisory support from their regional chamber—especially on financing and access to credit. Chambers also assist in finding business partners and provide updates on current grant opportunities.

What happens if you don’t pay?

The chamber contribution is considered a public charge, which means it can be enforced and collected in the same way as a tax.
