On January 1, 2025, the new TEÁOR'25 Classification System came into effect, replacing the TEÁOR'08 system that had been in use since 2008. This change aligns the Hungarian classification of economic activities with the updated European NACE Rev. 2.1 system, ensuring greater accuracy and consistency across member states.
The change affects the primary activity code and the statistical code of businesses and organizations, as the statistical code includes the TEÁOR code of the primary activity. You can read more about it here.
The Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) also sends a notification about this to the Company Portal (Cégkapu).
What needs to be done regarding the changes?
The reclassification will be automatically updated by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) and data-keeping authorities by January 31, 2025.
If you agree with the new code, no further action is required.
What if you disagree with the new primary activity code?
If the new code is incorrect, you can request a modification until July 1, 2025:
For entities required to register with the company registry:submit the 25T201T form. For entities not required to register with the company registry:submit the 25T201 form. For civil organizations:submit the 25T201CSZ form.
If you would like to request a modification, it is advisable to contact your accountant as soon as possible to ensure the appropriate form is submitted on your behalf!
